I’m Really Going on a Diet This Time

Published by cgardener at 7:31 pm under Women's Issues Edit This

Like so many people who have gained weight over the years, I have three wardrobes in my closet. I have clothes in sizes 7-8, 9-10, and my current 11-12. Don’t ask me why I haven’t thrown them out. Wishful thinking I guess. The problem now is that even the 11-12’s are starting to get tight, and I don’t have any decent winter clothes in anything larger than a 9-10.

It’s depressing when I remember that when I first moved to Florida in 1996, I weighed 117 lbs., and was a small size 7. I don’t necessarily want to be that skinny again, because to be honest, at my age, skinny looks more sickly than sexy.

I just want to get back to my size 9’s. Sound easy? NOT! The last time I was in a size 9, I weighed 130, which is 20 lbs. less than I weigh now. 20 lbs. may not sound like a lot, but considering that I’m over 50, and have medical problems, losing that 20 lbs. may not be so easy.

I’ve considered seriously doing the Master Cleanse, and I still might. I’d like to take 10 lbs. off quickly, then change to a raw food diet to lose the rest.

Of course, this means that treadmill in my living room needs to be something more than something to hang stuff on. I started walking with an older neighbor, but to be honest, she walks so slowly, that it hasn’t done much other than whittle down my saddlebags a little. I’ve lost no weight at all, and don’t even feel any stronger.

So I need to get serious about this. I’m tired of having two of things like bellies and chins. Rolls are nasty.

Wish me luck. I’m starting tomorrow.

I want to commend you on being open about our battle. Also want to wish you luck. If it is of any consolation you can count on me for anything. Good luck on this new journey because that is what it is.
